Each reconstruction procedure will be different because it is tailored to the needs and wants of each patient. Some patients can have their breasts reconstructed in one session, others will require more than one intervention. Patients can choose to begin reconstruction as soon as the mastectomy or they can also choose to heal and begin reconstruction at a later date.
Whatever the case, the goal is the same: to make the patient feel like herself again and to restore her self-confidence.
